In 2019, Hilary Messer-Barrow moved from her hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia to a remote Yukon community of approximately 90 residents.
Hilary left her job, her family and friends, and the city she’d lived in for 29 years to experience remote living. Together with her husband and their dog, Chilli, Hilary spends her days learning how to meal plan and cook (after all, the grocery store is 500 km away), connecting with the community, and appreciating the natural beauty around her.
She doesn’t know everything about remote living, but she loves to learn!
